I usually make a new sweet witch doll after the 4th of july.

She has really fun things done with old quilts, feed sacks, and vintage fabrics. She had large witch hats and I thought instead of making more dolls I will just make hats for dolls I made this past years. Here they are.  Fun to do.  I made 6 with hats.

 A new Americana tea cozy.Not much new here. Yard work and flowers. 

 I saw a rocking bunny online and decided to make my version.The bunny I saw had metal rockers.I do not weld so mine had to be fabric. Fun project.

 She is done. This is the doll I was working on in the previous post.I think I will call her Marian Joyce. She is another doll made using my MJ pattern. All those dolls have M and J names. Finished March 9th 2024. Her white dress was from curtains from my mothers kitchen in the 1980's. Fabric faded but the bow pattern in the fabric didn't. I always knew I would find a use for it someday.

I have had a couple of false starts with her.

First off I forgot to do the messy mix on her and had done a acrylic base flesh color 

So I did the messy mix and it did not make her head as firm as I wanted so I put a layer of rigid wrap on her head.

Basically I was starting over.

I then added a layer of modeling paste over the rigid wrap. That was put on with a paint brush then smoothed, and sanded.

Next I painted a base coat of oil paint.

The process was not my normal way but worked out ok.

Her head was not as smooth as I like but I am satisfied with her now that her face is painted on.

I had made her arms but find I do not like the hands on this pair of arms so I will remake them soon. 

 

New dolls.

 These 2 dolls and bunny were fun to finish today.     Good way to start 2024.

 It has been a long time since I posted here.

I am going to try to post more often.

Life has changed so much for me since my Tom died.  2612 Days have passed since that day.

I have finished a lot of the holy do list that was his.

A new sun room to replace the screen porch.A new screen porch.

2 new furnaces. a ew hot water heater, washing machine and new central air.

We talked about things that needed to be done.

The the up keep on this big house, but I would not change it for anywhere else.

I down sized my gardens and flower beds.I will share pictures in the future but just wanted to check in on this blog. 

I am doing a lot of craft/art projects.i did these salt shaker snowmen as gifts for 2022.
